What is MyWeb?
MyWeb is the personal web server at Chico State. It is a resource available to students, faculty, or staff to use to design, develop, and publish their own web pages.
These web pages can be used for coursework, to publish a resume, or just to experiment with web page design.
MyWeb also allows users to store non-web page files. MyWeb offers a secure, robust environment for backing up coursework or other important documents.
Documents stored outside the web page area of a user's account are only accessible by the user.
Users are given 100 MB of disk storage that can be used for web pages or other files.
Getting Started
-
Create An Account
If you are a current student, faculty, or staff, you must first create an account on MyWeb.
-
Access Your Account
MyWeb must be accessed by programs that use SSH (secure shell), which means that standard Telnet and FTP will not work. For more information,
see the accessing your MyWeb account instructions.
-
Create Web Pages and Store Files
Your MyWeb account can be used to store important files that can be retrieved as long wherever you have access to an Internet connection
and SSH/SFTP software. You can also create web pages on MyWeb by putting the HTML (or PHP) files and images into the public_html directory
in your account.
