Research Interests
I am doing rearch at Boiling Springs Lake, which is located in the
Lassen Volcanic National Park, in beautiful northern California.
Boiling Springs Lake is a large, hot (52 C), and acidic (pH 2) extreme
environment that harbors some unique, however, unexplored microbial
communities. For my masters thesis I plan to examine the eukaryotic
microbial diversity within the lake, paying attention to spatial and
temporal changes, and hopefully enrich and isolate some of the
organisms we find.
