Important!

MyWeb must be accessed by programs that use SSH (secure shell), which means that standard Telnet and FTP will not work. You can use the software listed below to access MyWeb, or you can use whatever SSH client you prefer.

Viewing Your Web Page

Once you have uploaded you web page files to your public_html directory, you can view your web page by going to:

http://myweb.csuchico.edu/~username

...where "username" is your Portal username.

Software

• Windows:
  • PuTTY: free SSH client, used for shell access, replaces Telnet.
  • WinSCP: free SCP/SFTP client, used to transfer files, replaces FTP.
• Mac OS X:
  • There is an SSH client built into OS X. Open a terminal window and type ssh myweb.csuchico.edu.
  • Fugu: free SCP/SFTP client.
• Dreamweaver:
  • See the configuring Dreamweaver MX 2004 to access MyWeb instructions.
  • Dreamweaver MX 2004 is currently the only version of Dreamweaver that supports SSH/SCP/SFTP. Older versions of Dreamweaver cannot access MyWeb.
