CASEY MORENO

I was raised near Grass Valley, California and moved to Chico in 2006. I have always felt I had a pretty normal childhood, but upon explaining my life to others, they said it wasn’t. I lived on a farm, with chickens, sheep, rabbits, and the like, so agriculture influenced my life. I was a part of 4-H and in high school, was part of FFA. Being involved in those organizations have equipped me with the skills I need to be successful in life. After high school, I went to Butte College to study Agricultural Science, and had an awesome paid internship for the United States Department of Agriculture. For two and a half years I attended Butte College, but I felt a change coming when I transferred to Chico during the Spring of 2009. During that time I found what I am truly passionate about. I became a devout Christian during that time and have found a new direction in my life, and the wind filling my sails doesn’t show signs of dying. I have since quit my job with the USDA and I am now working as a Youth Director at a church In Chico, and I am loving every moment of it! As for my college life and my future, I’m a General Music Major, with a Minor in Religious Studies. I love studying music, and the complexities of the theory used to create it. I have found that my true passion is serving others around me, by showing them how Christ loved others, whether that be strumming some chords for someone or a simple pat on the back. After I graduate from Chico State, I am going to pursue Seminary and look at either being a worship leader, or if I am lead to it, a Pastor. I love what I do, and I pray that I will continue to grow and to learn what this life is about and how I fit in to it.
Bio:

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.
