What can you do to make an assignment accessible when your students find it cognitively too challenging or they simply need more time and exposure to process the information in order to know what to do with the assignment? This AIM project was developed to provide greater access to students in the completion of their major research project. It provides examples of the process as well as the product of the assignment through the use of Camtasia. Specifically, it shows how an instructor can guide his or her students in using the resources to complete an action research project. This AIM project includes two components and both involved the use of a screen capture software, Camtasia, to provide and preserve visual and audio presentations. The first component provides a step-by-step explanation of the action research process. The second component is an online guide on how to access literature efficiently and effectively. A literature search guide was created to help students understand how to access data bases, Google Scholar, E-Book, copyright information and APA formatting. This guide also includes several video clips that prepare students into the literature search portion of their research project. .It allows for diverse students’ self-paced completion of a research assignment. Besides the two components, the class webpage discussion board, email, and homepage were used to provide students opportunities to communicate, share concerns and receive feedback.
