WELCOME TO MY HOME PAGE

Welcome to my homepage. My name is Jordan Fairley, I am currently a junior at Chico State University and I am majoring in Exercise Physiology. I am on the Cross Country and Track team and recently competed in the Div. 2 National Championships where our team took 6th. A few things that I am interested in are running, art, skiing, family and frequently researching ways to help the environment; all of which you can find here on my site, a few other things that you will find on my site are assignments for my PHED 100 class which I took the Fall semester in 2007, since creating this site was one of the many things that we learned in the class and can be found in my portfolio.

I hope you enjoy my site, and if you have any questions, or suggestions my email contact is posted as a link to the left.

Thank you, Jordan.

I just updated my portfolio page with a paper titled "Industrialization and Its Affect on The Environment." “Time is not on humanity’s side in this struggle, while we scramble to gain critical knowledge about how we are affecting the natural world, its systems are changing before our eyes. Meanwhile, our resources are limited, our technology imperfect, and we don’t even agree on what it is we value, wilderness or comfort? An easy life for us or an intact world for our children?” (Pope) We need to be on a path to sustainability, yet instead we are on a path to disaster.

Looking for a Buy Nothing Day event to get involved in? Leading an event of your own and need to get the word out? Our Buy Nothing Day forum is a tool to help activists find one another. The forum is organized geographically. Post under the appropriate country heading and make sure to include the name of the city where your event is taking place in the title.
" Driving hybrid cars and limiting industrial emissions is great‚ but they are band–aid solutions if we don’t address the core problem: we have to consume less. This is the message of Buy Nothing Day."

Today I ran in the Division II Cross Country National Championships. It was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. I have been training for years with this making it to the National meet wearing a Chico State uniform. However I ended up running very poorly, and our team took 6th place; which is'nt to bad but we were had our sights set a lot higher. You can see a couple pictures of the race on My Running Photo Gallery.

I just updated my portfolio page with a paper titled "Running Economy and Its Affect on Distance Running Performance." This is a 15 page study paper for my Physiology of Exercise class looking into ways to improve Running Economy and how RE is a better indicator of Running Performace than Vo2 Max.
