      Flex fuel vehicles still use the same style of internal combustion engines as regular gasoline cars, however they are designed differently so that they can run off of a blend of fuel types. The most common blend is gasoline mixed with ethanol, along with this there is also a less common blend of gasoline and methanol fuel.

      Flex fuel vehicles also have the capability to run simply off of gasoline and are actually very common in the United States, sometimes without the owner even realizing their potential.
