Alyssa will be attending Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania for their 2006-2007 school year. Upon receiving a partial 4-year scholarship to continue her softball career, she will be studying civil engineering while at the university. With initial recruitment at the Lancaster Tournament in the fall of 2005, Alyssa went on an official visit to Bucknell in the cold of December. Instantly, she fell in love with the quaint Eastern college. The Bisons compete in the NCAA Division I Patriot League along with Colgate, Army, Lehigh, Holy Cross and Lafayette. Bucknell University led the nation in graduation rate in a 2003 NCAA survey. The college ranks third in the nation in academic all-American selections. Entering her second season at the helm, head coach Heather Rakosik is reloading the program after losing several upperclassmen. Finishing fourth in the Patriot League last year, Bucknell looks to improve this year with the addition of ten freshman, including two from the West Coast. Alyssa is expected to immediately help the team next year at third base.
