Brief Background and Biography

Maxwell Bobier Rowe was born January 18, 1984 in Pasadena, Calif. to his parents Grant and Catherine. He moved to La Canada at the tender age of two where he spent his days till he graduated high school in 2002. His sister Caitlin entered the world on January 3, 1986. As a child Rowe was diverse in his activities. He enjoyed sports, art and exploring his imagination. Rowe was involved in his parents restaurant since he was young, helping his father with chores and caterings. Rowe began high school in 1998, a blurry eyed freshmen in his own world, but by the end of his senior year, Rowe had blossomed into a defiant teen orchestrating his defiance through skateboarding, art and music.

Rowe recalls something his father once told him, "Don't just act out to act out, act out to change something for the positive -- like Bob Marley."

Bob Marley had a major influence on Rowe's life along with others like the Dali Lama, Bob Dylan and Father Greg Boyle. The people who had a closer, truer impact on Rowe's life were his parents and family, along with a few teachers and coaches.

In high school Rowe played baseball, football and tennis. He attended a art academy at the Armory Center for the Arts throughout much of high school. In his final semester at La Canada High School, Rowe chose to attend California State University, Chico for his college education. It was at Chico State where he would blossom into the person he is today. After his first year and being undecided on a major, Rowe decided on Journalism, not because he was great at writing, but for his love of the communication of writing. He decided on a minor of history because of his belief that, "how can someone make judgements about the present or the future without first knowing their history."

Rowe continues to complete his major in Journalism and is exploring avenues into the art world again and hoping to eventually combine the two. He currently resides in Chico, Calif., but plans to stay only till he graduates. Rowe is 22-years-old.
