Quote submitted by Alex Steele, Press Secretary:
"The common thread of Democratic history, from Thomas Jefferson to Bill Clinton, has been an abiding faith in the judgment of hardworking American families, and a commitment to helping the excluded, the disenfranchised and the poor strengthen our nation by earning themselves a piece of the American Dream. We remember that this great land was sculpted by immigrants and slaves, their children and grandchildren."
--The late Ron Brown, former Chairman of the Democratic Party

CYD Updates

04/23-04/30

03/26-04/02

The CSU, Chico Student Democratic Club
will present the controversial documentary
"UNCOVERED: THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT THE IRAQ WAR,"
a film by Robert Greenwald (of "OUTFOXED" & "WAL-MART" fame),
on Monday, March 20, at 7pm, in HOLT 170.
Doors open at 6:30pm.  Suggested donation of $2.  Food and drinks provided.
Co-sponsored by the CSUC Political Science Department
and Butte Community College Young Democrats.

"UNCOVERED" is an independent look at the arguments, speeches,
and SPIN presented to the public by President Bush
and his advisors before and after the Iraq invasion.  The compelling footage
and interviews with international experts,
top CIA agents, and military personnel are a must see,
including interviews with JOE WILSON,
former Ambassador to Iraq, whose wife, Valerie Plame,
was recently outed as a CIA covert operative
by the Bush Administration.
Copies of Wilson's courageous NEW YORK TIMES column
that ignited this firestorm
will be available to the audience.

CSUC Political Science professor Dr. Jim Jacob,
an international terrorist expert, will decode background
and current information regarding
the Iraq War intelligence and Joe Wilson.
Be the well-informed citizen and join Professor Jacob
as he moderates and answers questions from the audience.

Students, check with your professors for extra credit.
Sign in sheets will be provided for attendance.

COINCIDENTALLY,
the same JOE WILSON will be speaking at CSU, Chico
two days later on Wednesday, March 22, presented by A.S.
Wilson will be here in Chico to speak the truth about
his and his wife's treatment by the Bush Administration,
as well as discussing and signing copies of his new "tell all" book.
As a former Ambassador to Iraq, Wilson was the logical person
to be sent to Niger to determine if the country was in fact
manufacturing "yellow cake" uranium for Iraq's
purported future nuclear development.
Although Wilson reported the Bush Administration's
claims to be false and impossible,
the Administration said the opposite and used these lies
as part of its case for invading Iraq.
The retaliation against JOE WILSON for these truths
by outing his wife, Valerie Plame, a CIA operative,
destroyed her career and endangered
all those connected with her investigations.

COME SEE ROBERT GREENWALD'S FILM
"UNCOVERED: THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT THE IRAQ WAR"
ON MARCH 20, 2006, AND THEN HEAR
JOE WILSON SPEAK ON MARCH 22, 2006.
You'll hear firsthand the ins and outs of the Iraq war lies and cover-up
as well as the details regarding the outing of Joe Wilson's wife,
Valerie Plame.  Here's the chance to hear the facts.
Joe Wilson is pivotal in the story
of the invasion of Iraq.  Be a part of history.
